Kamenica is a small village to the northeast of Krmelj in the Sevnica municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava statistical region.[2]

The local church built on a small hill to the southeast of the settlementis dedicated to Saint Margaret (Slovene: Sveta Marjeta and belongs to the Šentjanž parish. It was built in around 1700 on the site of an earlier building.[3]
